Paris, November 9, 2005 – Alcatel (Paris: CGEP.PA and NSYE: ALA) today announced that it has received the 2005 Frost & Sullivan Award for Growth Strategy Leadership in Enterprise Communications. The award recognizes Alcatel’s leadership position in the enterprise communications market and its user-centric approach for managing enterprise interactions. The award criteria also included technology innovation and the ability to grow in a competitive market.
Frost & Sullivan recognized Alcatel for its quick response to the demand for IP-based communications solutions for enterprises and SMBs. By launching two voice platforms, the Alcatel OmniPCX Office and the OmniPCX Enterprise, Alcatel provides segmented offers for both IP-only and dual IP and traditional telephony environments. To respond to increasing demand for communications applications, Alcatel provides integrated suites of contact center software and unified communications applications. Alcatel also delivers a range of data networking infrastructure and security offerings to complete its enterprise portfolio for IP communications.
“Our strategy for delivering user centric enterprise interactions remains focused on open applications, convergence and flexible deployment models, including a range of managed communications services,” said Jean-Christophe Giroux, president of Alcatel Enterprise solutions. “We are honored to receive this award by Frost & Sullivan and will continue to deliver solutions that fit customer needs and support technology evolution.”
“Alcatel’s user-centric approach to enterprise communications envisages a rich user experience through a simple interface, single authentication, consistent personalisation and transparent synchronization,” says Frost & Sullivan Senior Telecom Analyst Mr. Shomik Banerjee. “Its real strength lies in its open and flexible approach to delivering enterprise solutions. With early commitment to standards like SIP, Alcatel is well poised to benefit from its timely vision on open systems and applications for enterprise communications.”
Graeme Allan, Vice President Northern Europe of Alcatel Enterprise solutions, collected the award at the Excellence in Information & Communication Technologies Awards Banquet on 8th November 2005 at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel, London.
