Horowitz to expand client service capability

Tacoma, WA — December 6, 2007 — In an effort to manage the increasing usage of Russell Indexes as the equity benchmarks of choice, Russell Investments has hired Dorsey Horowitz to serve as client executive on its New York-based team. Horowitz previously managed the global client service team for MSCI Barra, which also is based in New York.

“Dorsey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team,” said Lori Richards, director, Russell Index Client Service. “Her skills, particularly in product enhancement and development as well as ETF strategies, are highly regarded.”

Russell provides the leading U.S. equity index family for institutional investors with more than $4.4 trillion in investment assets benchmarked to them. In terms of usage relative to competitors, Russell’s U.S. indexes account for 58.5% of the products and 52.1% of the assets benchmarked. The complete family of indexes offers investors the most objective and transparent way to accurately measure distinct segments of the global market without gaps or overlaps.

“There’s a great deal of momentum for Russell Indexes and products based on them, and I’m eager to work with this team to build on that success and further expand it globally,” said Horowitz.
