GENEVA, Switzerland 30-JUN-2008 07:29 AM
Oracle Corporation (NASDAQ: ORCL) confirmed continued strong customer adoption of its product offering in the Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) region across a wide range of industry sectors during fiscal year 2008 and the fourth quarter 2008.

The EMEA region reported revenues of $7.9 billion in US GAAP basis for the fiscal year 2008 (ended 31 May 2008), an increase of 32% compared to fiscal year 2007. New software license revenues for Fiscal Year 2008 grew 35% compared with the previous year. Fourth quarter GAAP revenues for the EMEA region were $2.7 billion, up 34% over the same period last year, with new software licence revenues increased by 41%

“This has been an outstanding quarter, and an excellent year in EMEA. Our success is based on Oracle’s strategy of providing our customers with a powerful portfolio of horizontal and industry-specific applications together with database, middleware, enterprise performance management and business intelligence solutions, which are pre-integrated and based on open standards. Customers want to rely on few large strategic software solution partners and increasingly are buying across the complete Oracle stack – applications, middleware and database. We have seen excellent uptake across all of our acquired product sets demonstrating once more the success of our acquisition strategy.” Sergio Giacoletto, Executive Vice President, Oracle Europe, Middle East and Africa.
