Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced it will demonstrate its LTE portfolio of test products here at LTE World Summit. The demonstrations will show how these products provide a powerful and scalable platform designed for the LTE UE development lifecycle — from early protocol development to conformance test.
“Agilent, the leader in the measurement industry, is delivering solutions for the entire LTE development lifecycle,” said Benoit Neel, vice president and general manager of Agilent’s Europe, Middle East and Africa field operations. “We have developed several first-to-market LTE test products to ensure the success of LTE deployment that must meet some aggressive time-to-market goals.
Agilent LTE Test Solutions
3GPP LTE signal processing models and preconfigured simulation using Agilent’s 3GPP LTE Wireless Library (E8895) for Agilent ADS software: Enables designers to create spectrally correct test waveforms that comply with the March 2008 LTE standard. These waveforms can be used to conduct receiver test and measure the EVM, PAPR, CCDF and ACLR performance of 3GPP LTE system RF components. The LTE Wireless Library currently supports 36.211 v8.3.0 of the LTE standard, providing support for fully coded FDD and TDD uplink/downlink, as well as MIMO in the downlink.
Comprehensive stimulus and analysis for developers of radio-frequency integrated circuits (RF-IC) and baseband ICs (BB-IC) as well as integrators of wireless handsets: Agilent’s Digital Radio Frequency (DigRF) V4 test solution integrates DigRF V4 stimulus and protocol analysis tools into Agilent’s popular portfolio of digital, RF and wireless instruments. The new Agilent RDX (Radio Digital Cross-Domain) tester consists of two new modules, the Agilent N5343A exerciser module and the N5344A analysis module, which are housed in small, modular Agilent N2X mainframes. The modular structure is built to accommodate future MIMO designs.
LTE UE 3GPP-compliant protocol development solutions using the Agilent E6620A test set: This test set provides a powerful, common hardware platform for LTE test solutions across the LTE UE R&D lifecycle. The E6620A is an advanced, one-box test set for LTE that offers real-time, system-rate network emulation for L1/L2/L3 uplink and downlink via RF or digital baseband. It is designed to support MIMO and protocol conformance test, with full RF measurement capabilities.
MIMO channel emulation and co-existence test with the Agilent N5106A PXB MIMO receiver tester: The Agilent PXB MIMO receiver tester transforms complex channel emulation up to 4×2 MIMO into a calibrated and repeatable test process for R&D engineers developing BTS or mobile receivers. The Agilent PXB supports all the major wireless standards, including WiMAX(tm) and LTE. Its capabilities make the new PXB ideal for R&D engineers developing and integrating MIMO receivers for 3GPP LTE, WiMAX and emerging wireless standards.
MIMO- LTE signal analysis: Agilent’s advanced 89600 Series Vector Signal Analysis software and high-performance mid-range MXA signal analyzers provide high performance 2×2 MIMO LTE signal analysis at a low cost.
LTE design validation and prototype production: The Agilent N9080A 3GPP LTE measurement application with Agilent’s X-Series signal analyzers provides the industry’s most comprehensive embedded solution with hardkey/softkey and SCPI programming user interface. The measurement application brings physical layer testing of uplink and downlink LTE signals to the test rack. Additionally, Agilent 89600 VSA software with the LTE option can be used with more than 30 Agilent products to make LTE measurements anywhere in the block diagram — from baseband to antenna, on digitized or analog signals — using spectrum and signal analyzers, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Passive probing and analysis of LTE network interfaces: The Agilent J7880A signaling analyzer software platform effortlessly scales to meet the dynamic and changing test needs from the lab to operations. It performs single point monitoring and analysis to a fully distributed test environment. With a powerful combination of distributable hardware pre-processing with scalable software architecture, the signaling analyzer platform will help to ensure the successful deployment of an integrated LTE/SAE network system.
On Nov. 18 at the LTE World Summit, Agilent Lead Technologist Moray Rumney will present, “Identifying Affordable Technology to Deliver the Mobile Broadband Vision.” Presentation topics include:
What practical performance gains can HSPA+ and LTE deliver?
Is the historical growth in wireless capacity sustainable and sufficient to deliver mobile broadband?
Spectral efficiency, spectrum availability, cell size.
Understanding the link between spectral efficiency, system cost and system complexity.
What role can femtocells and WiFi play as part of an affordable high-capacity wireless ecosystem.
