Redwood Shores, CA – January 28, 2009
News Facts
The Oracle Academy announced that it will expand its Oracle Academy Institute to three locations across the U.S. in 2009.
The Oracle Academy Institute is an intensive professional development program that prepares faculty to teach the Oracle Academy’s technology and business curriculum. The curriculum, which focuses on database design and programming skills, is delivered over two semesters in high schools, colleges, and vocational schools globally.
Participating faculty complete 40 hours of online coursework before attending a live training event. At this event, they work face-to-face with Oracle Academy instructors to prepare to teach Oracle Academy curriculum to their students, completing a class project and passing a final exam.
In 2009, the live training will be offered in three locations:
University in Rock Hill, South Carolina from June 15-19, 2009. This event will be delivered in cooperation with the South Carolina Department of Education.
Headquarters in California from July 13-17, 2009.
University in Baltimore, Maryland from July 20-24, 2009. This event will be delivered in cooperation with the Maryland State Department of Education.
These three regional Oracle Academy Institutes are designed to support the continued growth of the Oracle Academy in the U.S. Currently, more than 89,000 students from 800 educational institutions across the country benefit from their participation in the Oracle Academy.
