The president of the Republic of Namibia, Hifikepunye Pohamba, accompanied by an entourage of ministers, visited Petrobras’ headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro, this Thursday (02/12), where he met with Company president, José Sergio Gabrielli de Azevedo, and International Area director, Jorge Luiz Zelada.
During the meeting, president Gabrielli presented Petrobras’ activities in Brazil and abroad and the Company’s investment plans for 2009-2013. Future opportunities for Petrobras to operate in the African country, particularly in areas such as exploration and production and biofuels, were discussed.
Petrobras has been in Africa since 1978, when it kicked its operations off in Angola. It is currently also in Nigeria, Libya, Senegal, Mozambique, and Tanzania.
