Enrollment in Oracle’s Industry-Leading Business and Technology Skills Program Increases by 60 Percent
Warsaw, Poland, February 12, 2009
Universities across Poland are rapidly integrating the Oracle Academy into their curricula to help students prepare for 21st century careers.
In the past year, Oracle Academy enrollment in Poland increased by more than 60 percent. The program now supports 18,000 students across the country.
Students who participate in the Oracle Academy develop vital business and technology skills, gaining a competitive advantage as they prepare to enter the global workforce of the 21st century.
In addition, the Oracle Academy provides students with resources to prepare for industry certification, including discounts on exams and exam preparation.
The Oracle Academy also supports faculty with professional development opportunities. In Fall 2008, 13 Polish teachers participated in a free training event where they learned about Oracle technologies and discussed best practices for delivering Oracle Academy curriculum in their schools.
The rapid growth of the Oracle Academy will help expand Poland’s talent pool to meet the growing demands of the local IT industry.
Currently, more than 277,000 students from 1,800 educational institutions across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) benefit from their participation in the Oracle Academy.
“The Oracle Academy is dedicated to preparing students for 21st century careers and providing teachers with world-class professional development opportunities,” said Andrzej Dopierala, Country Leader, Oracle Poland. “The program’s continued success in Poland will help develop our IT workforce.”
