Guidel 1-2-10 – KANNAD, a company of the Orolia Group (NYSE Alternext Paris – FR0010501015 – ALORO) announces today that it has obtained Part 145 certification for the maintenance of its products dedicated to the aviation market. This certification now allows Kannad, which manufactures distress beacons, to extend the offer of its services across Europe.
Part-145 joins the company’s other approvals which include EN9100 certification, Part 21-O for design approval and Part 21-G for production organisation approval, all of which cover aviation distress beacons.
Certification is part of a continuous monitoring process supervised by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
“Following our strategic refocusing in the aviation market we are very pleased to have obtained the Part-145 certification which demonstrates the quality of service that we provide to our customers,” says Jean-Pierre Bardon, CEO of Kannad.
He adds “This new maintenance facility for Kannad’s aviation distress beacons, which is already operational, will extend gradually to other aeronautic products. This service will allow us to gain additional revenues and to benefit from feedback regarding the operating conditions of our distress beacons, an important factor in improving the reliability for our future products.”
Kannad is committed to undertaking maintenance to tight turnaround deadlines ensuring that aircraft are held on the ground for as short a time as possible while waiting for the return of their vital safety equipment. Aviation product maintenance under the Part 145 certification started at the beginning of December and distress beacon equipment has already been serviced for a number of key customers including Pilatus, Eurocopter and Grob.
