Investment specialist selects solution for IT service management
Chessington, 21 April 2010 – Investment management company Raymond James Investment Services (RJIS) has chosen Sostenuto, Sunrise Software’s browser based software solution, to underpin its IT service management operations. The project also provides for the future deployment of the software across further departments, including Operations, Marketing, Training, Client Services, Business Development, Finance and HR, where the software will be customised to deliver relevant applications.
The company undertook an extensive evaluation process before selecting Sostenuto. IT Support Services Manager Devon Scott said: “We had already drawn up a shortlist of suppliers, when we came across Sostenuto at the eleventh hour. After seeing a demonstration of the product, we knew this was the solution we needed to have.”
“We were won over by the look and feel of the software,” continued Scott, “which was a departure from a typical web based application. There was also specific functionality available as standard which was unique to Sostenuto.”
Scott’s team provides IT support to a number of Investment Managers and Advisers with access to trading platforms, general portfolio maintenance and reporting applications among others. “Our role is to make accessing our systems seamless for our clients. We purchase hardware and software, as well as manage contracts and SLAs with third parties to ensure our systems and infrastructure are always available and performing well above expectation. This is in addition to the support we provide to our clients and head office staff.”
The new solution will be deployed with the aim of bringing all of the information and processes involved in these activities in one single location. It is expected to result in significant efficiencies and increased performance for IT.
From the beginning of the project, the intention has been to procure a solution that is capable of being rolled out across the organisation. “We have many requests from other departments looking to introduce or improve business applications,” said Scott. “We don’t see any point in operating our IT in isolation, and once Sostenuto is up and running for IT, it will then be deployed further within the organisation to help improve performance across the board.”
